Nepal Part 3, The Landscape and Culture

OK, Part 3. By now you have been inundated with images of the high mountains and the wonderful people of Nepal. Now I will try to convey the beauty of the place. A culture rich with history that dates back into the first millenia. A land that seems at once medieval and current. A place that is used to the plow, and still provides for wilderness. Gorges that are as deep as the grand canyon, and yet are terraced for agriculture. Long shadows of the low Autumn sun that make for some stunning photos and high peaks that lift the views to the sky. Buddhist and Hindu iconography that share similar dieties, and spiritual architecture around every turn.
Overwhelmed? You bet. Here goes:
